The event was organized jointly by the AIANY Design for Aging Committee (DFA) and the AIANY Committee on the Environment (COTE).

Universal Design Principles Published in New WELL Building Standard (WELL v2)

Future of WELL graphicThe International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) has formally adopted Universal Design (UD) principles into the new and improved WELL Building Standard version 2 (WELL v2). Inclusion of the UD concepts were proposed by Steven Winter Associates’ Accessibility Team in February of 2017. SWA is thrilled at the news of this achievement, solidifying Universal Design as an option for anyone wishing to pursue the WELL v2 certification.

Design for All: What the Cooper Hewitt’s Access+Ability exhibit can teach us about Accessible Design
