SWA Staff Selected to Participate in Revision of NYC Construction Codes

SWA is pleased to announce the selection of staff members to aid in the revision of the New York City Construction Codes. The Department of Buildings (DOB) has selected SWA’s Jason Block, Harold Bravo, and Mark Jackson to participate in three of the eight technical committees responsible for the revision.

Crescent Crossings, a newly constructed affordable housing complex in Bridgeport, Connecticut, was honored at the Connecticut Green Building Council's (CTGBC) Award Ceremony on December 2, 2017. The development received the Residential Project Award of Honor, the highest award in the residential category. SWA provided sustainability consulting services to achieve LEED for Homes Platinum and ENERGY STAR v3.1 certifications, as well as the Indoor airPLUS label.

The International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) has a number of requirements involving energy recovery for ventilation systems. Many new construction projects must now incorporate these measures into their design. A great way to satisfy these energy recovery requirements is through the use of an energy recovery unit (ERU) equipped with a heat wheel.
